Introduction

This short course has been developed by myself, Andrew Protheroe, Director and Head of Risk and Resilience at PCR Global.

What to expect?

The course structure hand-rail's the Guidance for Pollution Prevention (GPPs) GPP22 Dealing with Spills

GPPs provide environmental good practice guidance for the whole of the UK. GPP22 has been produced by Natural Resources Wales (NRW), (Link) the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) (Link) and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) (Link) in GPP22. The content also forms part of the wider PCR Global internal training program.

As I am putting these course's together as part of my own CPD (continued professional development) ... and in my own time ...  additional elements will be added on an ongoing basis.

As a small token of thanks, we are not asking for money for this course, but if you could Subscribe to our new YouTube Channel this really would go some way to keeping the motivation and flow of FREE content coming. Thank you 🤞

Although the course makes reference to UK regulations, the information provided would be useful to anyone aiming to improve their knowledge of dealing with spills.

Important

Myself and the PCR Team recognise that undertaking an online course does not ensure competence in any risk management discipline.

The information we provide is not intended to be 'stand alone'. It is designed to form part of any training identified as required by a robust and specific risk assessment.

Text to read through with useful links to trusted resources such as environmental regulators.

A set of assessment questions at the end of each module... You will need 100% before you can progress onto the next one.

Who would it benefit?

The course would be of use to:

2 - Anyone currently undergoing environmental management training or those wishing to undertake some CPD!

3 - Anyone interested in learning that bit more about environmental management - in particular Dealing with Spills.

4 - Organisations that have to evidence competence / training as part of their:

A personal recommendation

If you want to test yourself ... and I mean genuinely test yourself ... have a look at the NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management here:

➡️  RRC - for a training provider

➡️  SHEilds - for a training provider

From me

I really hope you find this short course beneficial to your risk management journey.

The ability to appropriately deal with spills is a legal requirement for all UK organisations, and a fundamental expectation of good environmental risk management.

If you have any questions or suggestions please drop me a message.

Thanks for reading and taking this short course if you do - Andy.

Good Luck!
