PCR BiteSIZE CPD: FMEA
FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) FMECA (Failure Modes Criticality and Effects Analysis)
This 'BiteSIZE CPD' course (1hr 20 mins) has been developed by myself, Andrew Protheroe, Director and Head of Risk and Resilience at PCR Global.
If you start it, you don't have to finish it all in one go - you can leave and start again where you left off.
Why has the session been provided?
This micro-session was built by using the video from the 'PCR Global A - Z of Risk Management: FMEA YouTube Video'.
➡️ (Link to PCR YouTube Channel) ⬅️
As a member of a number of professional institutions, I recognise that CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is crucial to our personal and professional development.
As finding suitable content can often be time consuming, I simply took the time to:
1) Upload the A - Z video to our eLearning Academy ⬆️ 2) Add some relevant content ✏️ 3) Create some questions❓❓, and 4) Ask Andrew Collins to draft a PCR BiteSIZE CPD Certificate 🎖
We hope you find the content useful and it goes some way to help you evidencing some CPD.
As a small token of thanks, we are not asking for money for this course, but if you could Subscribe to our new YouTube Channel this really would go some way to keeping the motivation and flow of FREE content coming. Thank you 🤞 |
Note: This BiteSIZE micro-session does not teach you how to undertake FMEA assessments, but does provide general information.
Although the course makes reference to UK regulations, the information provided would be useful to anyone aiming to improve their knowledge of dynamic risk assessments.
Important
Myself and the PCR Team recognise that undertaking an online course does not ensure competence in any risk management discipline.
The information we provide is not intended to be 'stand alone'. It is designed to form part of any training identified as required by a robust and specific risk assessment.
What to expect from this micro-session?
The PCR 'A to Z of Risk Management: F is for FMEA' from the PCR Global YouTube Channel
Guidance on FMEA as provided in (BS EN IEC 31010:2019)
Narrated delivery from the 'PCR Global Blackboard'
Step by Step Guide through an FMEA worksheet and a 'high-level view' of the context surrounding the FMEA
Assessment questions at the end of the CPD course
There are many methods of evaluating CPD activities - these could be as simple as registering for a webinar.
For our CPD we have ensured we provide a set of questions at the end of the session - this best enables us to verify as best as possible a degree of knowledge attainment or retention.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. A CPD certificate will be provided if you score 100% in the end of CPD questions.
Who would it benefit?
The course would be of use to:
1 - Those new to Health and Safety or Quality Management.
2 - Security Managers and Operatives.
3 - Anyone aiming to add to their CPD!
4 - Organisations that have to evidence competence / training as part of their:
ISO, CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor or Achilles etc.

From me
I really hope you find this BiteSIZE CPD course beneficial to your risk management journey.
An appreciation of the various risk assessment methodologies such as FMEA/FMECA provides a baseline understanding on which a more in depth knowledge can be built.
